Soccer Juggling Tips for Players
Start small with one bounce
Drop the ball, let it bounce once, then tap it back up with your foot. This helps players learn timing and control without feeling rushed.Lock your ankle
Keep your foot firm and your toe slightly up. A loose ankle makes the ball fly in random directions.Use soft touches
Juggling is not about kicking hard. The goal is to gently lift the ball and keep it close.Keep the ball low
Try to keep the ball around knee to waist height. The higher it goes, the harder it is to control.Stay light on your feet
Stay on the balls of your feet so you can adjust quickly when the ball moves.Use both feet
Even if one foot feels stronger, practice both. Alternating feet helps build balance, coordination, and confidence.Use your laces, not your toe
Players should try to touch the ball with the top of the foot/laces. Toe touches usually send the ball too far forward.Keep knees bent and arms out
A slight bend in the knees and arms out for balance helps players stay relaxed and in control.Practice in short rounds
Five to ten minutes a day is better than one long practice once in a while. Small, consistent practice adds up.Focus on control, not the number
Ten controlled juggles are better than twenty-five wild ones. The goal is to build touch, balance, and confidence.

Juggling Tip of the Month:
Start small! Drop the ball, let it bounce once, and use a soft touch with your laces to pop it back up. Keep your ankle locked, your knees bent, and your touches light. Try setting a goal of 5 juggles, then 10, then 25. A few minutes every day can make a huge difference!
Beginner Juggling Challenge:
Week 1: Drop, bounce, one touch, catch
Week 2: Try two touches before catching
Week 3: Try to reach 5 juggles
Week 4: Use both feet and aim for 10 total touches
Player Reminder:
Juggling helps with first touch, balance, coordination, confidence, and ball control. It may feel tricky at first, but every touch counts!
How to Choose the Right Camp or Clinic for Your Player
Not sure which BES program is the best fit for your player? We’re here to help!
Choosing the right camp or clinic depends on your player’s age, experience, confidence, and goals. Some players are just beginning their soccer journey and need a fun, encouraging place to learn the basics. Others are ready for more touches, faster play, or a higher-level challenge.
For our youngest or newer players, Booters and Grassroots are a great starting point. These programs focus on confidence, movement, basic skills, and fun.
For players who are ready for more structure, Skills & Scrimmage offers a great mix of technical training and game play. Players get to work on their skills and then use them in scrimmage-style situations.
For motivated players looking for more intensity, our Higher Level Clinics provide a faster-paced environment with stronger expectations, more detailed coaching, and higher-level development.
If your player is a goalkeeper or interested in becoming one, our Goalkeeper Clinics and Camps offer position-specific training to build technique, confidence, and comfort in net.
For families looking for a fun summer soccer experience, our Community Camps are a great way to stay active, meet coaches, get extra touches, and enjoy the game.
For players who want to focus on a specific part of their development, our Specialty Camps and Private Trainingoptions offer more targeted coaching.
Still not sure? Just ask! We’re happy to help guide you toward the program that best fits your player’s age, ability, confidence, and goals. At BES, we want every player to be in an environment where they can grow, be challenged, and love the game. Use our Contact Us page and let us know how we can help!
